CCC (China Compulsory Certification)

1. outline

The Chinese government began operating the CCC system on May 1, 2002, and all companies producing products in China or exporting to China must obtain the CCC mark.

About the CCC System

  • The China Compulsory Certification system is a system for certifying the safety and quality of products, mainly electrical and electronic products and automobiles.
  • Products exported to China must obtain a CCC mark from a Chinese certification body.
  • Companies that have established local factories in China are also required to obtain the CCC mark, which replaces the existing CCEE mark.

System Transition

The Chinese government has taken the following measures to prevent confusion in the system transition

  • For one year from May 1, 2002, the current system and the CCC system will be implemented in parallel.
  • The existing dual system (domestic products: CCEE mark, imported products: CCIB mark) will be unified as the CCC system upon joining the WTO.
  • No certification is required for items subject to mandatory certification under the existing CCIB/CCEE mark if they are no longer subject to the new system.
